Cinema to blow you away
BNP Paribas and the film industry are connected by a shared set of values including creativity, imagination and innovation. For 100 years, the BNP Paribas Group has supported and promoted this art, both in France and around the world. Its goal is to bring a rich variety of films to all audiences, while supporting the development of the film industry, promoting the emergence of new talent and raising social awareness.
Active across the industry’s entire value chain, BNP Paribas’ commitment to film is rooted in three main areas: financing audio-visual production, partnerships and innovation to develop brand affinity. Today, film is a major passion that the bank shares with its clients.
Our passion for film knows no boundaries which is why we have a global partnership with Craig Leeson, a Sustainability Partner of BNP Paribas. Craig is an award-winning filmmaker, storyteller and advocate for sustainability, and the director behind “A Plastic Ocean”.
Our relationship with Craig has moved from strength to strength since we began our journey in 2016 with sponsoring the Asian premiere of his first film, ”A Plastic Ocean”, a film which has gone onto help educate millions around the world on the perils of our ‘throw-away’ addiction of single-use plastics.
As a BNP Paribas Sustainability Partner, Craig’s work around reducing single-use plastics and understanding of the climate crisis, align with BNP Paribas’ positive impact ambitions, that of the UNs Sustainable Development Goals and ambitions of the Paris Climate Agreement. Together, we will set out to identify, educate and accelerate on the solutions to some of the world’s biggest issues, one individual, one community, one company, one country at a time.
Alongside its funding activities, BNP Paribas supports a variety of industry events. In France, the BNP Paribas Group supports national and regional film events including the Télérama Film Festival, the Grand Lyon Film Festival, the Champs Elysées Film Festival, the Académie des César, the Cannes Film Festival as well as events organised in Strasbourg, Saint Etienne, Arras, Rennes, Deauville and more.
