David Chen named General Manager of Cardif Assurance Vie, Taiwan Branch

Cardif Assurance Vie in Taiwan, the subsidiary of BNP Paribas Cardif, the insurance arm of BNP Paribas, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Chen as the General Manager of Cardif Assurance Vie in Taiwan. This appointment has been approved by the local authority and is immediately effective. David’s predecessor, Ms. Ruth Wu, will take on another key position in the company.

Cardif Assurance Vie in Taiwan is the market leader in unit-linked insurance and creditor insurance products. With 20 years of sales experience in Asia-Pacific insurance business and in-depth operational experience in Taiwan, David will lead Cardif Assurance Vie in Taiwan to pursue business expansion and continuous growth.

In his earlier career, David had been Vice President of Financial Services/Credit Life Insurance of AIA Hong Kong, Vice-President of Corporate Marketing of Nan Shan Life, General Manager of ALICO Taiwan, CEO of ACE Life Asia Pacific, and COO of CIGNA/CMC Life Insurance.

David said: “I am delighted to join Cardif Assurance Vie in Taiwan.The insurance penetration in Taiwan is very high but the average insurance coverage is still comparatively low. Therefore, there is still a vast room for future growth in Taiwan. Cardif Assurance Vie has stable sales growth in Taiwan. We have a strong confidence in our future business opportunities in the market. We expect the demand for insurance products will continue to grow.  And unit-linked insurance is also becoming an essential part of people’s retirement plans. We will strive to meet our clients’ need for insurance products and services and continue to offer a variety of innovative products.”

The objective of Cardif Assurance Vie in Taiwan is to secure the growth of premium income and revenue and market share.
